The Minnesota legislature has 2 days left to finish its business before it adjourns on Sunday evening. It is imperative that lawmakers do not leave the Capitol without passing a bonding bill that includes funding for essential programs that support water infrastructure, local roads and bridges, as well as other important local projects.

Last year’s bonding bill, while substantial, merely made up for the failure of the legislature to pass a bonding bill in previous years. This year, there are many projects and programs around the state that need funding. Political conflict will not rebuild a crumbling bridge or a failing drinking water system—our communities’ well-being will be in jeopardy without state investment through a bonding bill.

That is why a bonding bill should a top priority this legislative session, and the legislature needs to hear from you NOW. Contact the Governor, legislative leaders, and your legislators today and tell them to pass a bonding bill that funds critical infrastructure programs and local projects.

We need your help to pass a bonding bill that supports Greater MN!

ACT NOW:

Contact the Governor, legislative leaders, and your legislators TODAY and tell them:

  1. To pass a bonding bill by this Sunday.
  2. Clean water, safe roads and bridges, and other public infrastructure should not be held up due partisan disagreement.
  3. Tell your story! If your city has a project that could potentially be included in the bonding bill or will be funded through agency programs—such as PFA, MnDOT programs, or BDPI—it is important to mention that to your legislators. The more city officials, staff, and community members that contact legislators, the stronger and louder our message will be!
