As the Minnesota Legislature prepares to reconvene Friday, June 12 for a special session, it is critical that you reach out to your legislators and make it clear that they must pass a bonding bill before they adjourn.
As CGMC Executive Director Bradley Peterson emphasizes in this guest column for the Minnesota Reformer, it is more important than ever that lawmakers come together to pass a bonding bill that invests at least $1.5 billion to address infrastructure needs across the state.
We need your help! Please contact your legislators and urge them to pass a large bonding bill right away so that we can begin to get our economy back on track.
Take Action Now!
Contact your state senator and representative TODAY and urge them to pass a bonding bill during the special session. Tell them that:
- The special session must not end until a bonding bill passes.
- A large bonding bill that invests at least $1.5 billion in critical infrastructure and creates thousands of jobs is a key component in helping the state and local economies bounce back from recent crises.
- The bonding bill must include significant funding for programs and projects that are important to Greater Minnesota including water infrastructure, child care facilities, transportation and the Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure (BDPI) Grant Program.
- Tell your story! Share examples of how a bonding bill and investments in infrastructure will benefit your community, region and our state.
