The momentum is continuing to build at the Legislature on issues that affect economic development in Greater Minnesota! A group of rural senators held a press conference Wednesday to announce their top economic development initiatives, and we were pleased to see that several of the CGMC and Greater Minnesota Partnership proposals were highlighted, including bills we helped develop on issues such as workforce housing, job training and the Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure (BDPI) Grant Program and broadband. You can read more about the Senate’s Greater Minnesota proposals here.

In response to the rural senators’ announcement, CGMC President Heidi Omerza issued this statement:

“We are excited that leading rural Senators have embraced our proposals on key Greater Minnesota issues such as job training, workforce housing, broadband and the Business Development Public Infrastructure program. There is no doubt that we are seeing strong momentum being created behind an agenda that will bring jobs and economic growth to communities across Greater Minnesota. It’s now critical that House Republicans, who campaigned on rural issues, join with the Senate to support these initiatives.”
