This week, the CGMC joined a wide-ranging coalition of unions, engineers, architects, environmental groups, local government groups, faith groups, transportation groups, contractors and others in signing onto a letter calling on the Governor and legislative leaders to put their differences aside and pass a significant bonding bill.
The more than 60 organizations that signed onto the letter agree that a large bonding bill is essential to jump-start the economy and address infrastructure needs. The letter emphasized that as our economy struggles and local governments face unexpected costs, a bonding bill is needed to enhance Minnesota’s economy and create jobs. With interest rates at historic lows, there is no reason to not pass a substantial bonding bill. The projects will not go away and will only become more expensive the longer they must be put off.
The CGMC continues to work with these groups and others to push for passage of a large bonding bill in September.
