We have a full slate of activities and speakers scheduled for the CGMC Summer Conference, which will be held next Wednesday through Friday at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.
The conference will feature presentations on the 2015 legislative session, workforce housing, growing the CGMC, labor and employee relations, and environmental regulations. On Thursday afternoon, attendees will enjoy lunch with keynote speaker Lori Sturdevant, veteran Star Tribune columnist. Later that day they will also get to ask questions during a legislative panel discussion featuring Sen. Kent Eken (DFL-Twin Valley), Sen. Bill Weber (R-Luverne), Rep. Deb Kiel (R-Crookston), Rep. Paul Thissen (DFL-Minneapolis) and Dept. of Revenue Commissioner Cynthia Bauerly. Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith will also address the conference and field questions during a separate session on Thursday afternoon.
In addition to learning, attendees will have plenty of opportunities for fun and socializing. On Wednesday afternoon, they will participate in one of three tour options: the Seaway Port Authority, the AAR Aircraft maintenance facility or a bus tour of the city of Duluth. That evening, the city of Duluth will host a dinner and an informal brewery crawl. The following night will feature the CGMC’s annual legislative awards dinner, preceded by a reception sponsored by Bolton & Menk, Inc.
We are looking forward to a fun and informative conference. Click here to view the full conference agenda.
