This year, local governments are battling financial challenges on multiple fronts with unexpected revenue losses due to COVID-19 and an uncertain state budget outlook. The most recent November budget forecast shows a surplus of $641 million for 2020-2021 and a budget deficit of $1.3 billion for the 2022-2023 biennium.
To better understand the impact of COVID-19 and potential Local Government Aid cuts, CGMC is asking city officials and staff members to fill out a short survey at bit.ly/CGMCsurvey. The information gleaned from the survey will help guide the CGMC as we continue to fight for our member cities’ needs at the State Capitol during the upcoming legislative session.
Please complete the survey as soon as possible. It will close on December 18.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this survey, please contact CGMC Policy Analyst Ania McDonnell at acmcdonnell@flaherty-hood.com or 218-213-8601.
