House Democrats’ Greater Minnesota agenda embraces key CGMC issues

“After a disappointing session last year, we are glad the House DFL is committed to making 2016 a better year for Greater Minnesota. Their plan advances several important issues that the CGMC has been fighting for, including Local Government Aid, workforce housing, job skills training, transportation and broadband expansion. We’re grateful that House DFL legislators have responded to concerns expressed by city and business leaders across Greater Minnesota by coming up with a robust plan that addresses our needs.

“With a more than $1 billion budget surplus, the goals laid out in the House DFL’s proposal can easily be met this year. We hope the House Republicans, State Senate and Governor Dayton will also take advantage of this opportunity to make key investments that will strengthen Greater Minnesota communities.”
