House Republicans need to reverse course on LGA
Statement from CGMC Vice President and Le Sueur Mayor Bob Broeder on the passage of the House tax bill

“We are deeply disappointed that the House passed a tax bill that doesn’t invest in Local Government Aid and in fact threatens the future of the program. Despite a large state surplus and bipartisan support for legislation that would have provided a modest increase in LGA, the House ultimately chose to move the LGA program backward.

“In the remaining two weeks of the session, mayors and city leaders from across Greater Minnesota will work tirelessly to see that the House changes direction and recommits to meeting the needs of communities by adopting the Senate’s proposal to increase funding for LGA.”
