Registration is now open for First Children’s Finance (FCF) 2026 Foundations of the Future conference! Join economic development professionals, community leaders, and partners from across Minnesota from October 20-21 in Willmar for an event focused on conversation, collaboration, and practical ideas for addressing child care as a critical part of community and economic development.

During the event, attendees will hear how communities are:

  • Connecting child care to workforce and economic development strategies
  • Building partnerships across business, government, and community organizations
  • Leveraging creative funding and local resources
  • Supporting the growth and sustainability of child care
  • Turning community planning into action

A Statewide Collaboration

This conference is made possible through collaboration among organizations working across Minnesota to strengthen communities, support businesses, and expand access to child care:

First Children’s Finance • Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families • Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development • Southwest Initiative Foundation • Greater Minnesota Partnership

Together, this coalition is bringing economic development and child care leaders to the same table to explore what communities can do to address one of the most pressing barriers to growth.
