On Tuesday, CGMC Executive Director Bradley Peterson joined representatives from other associations and local governments in a conference call with the Governor’s Office and the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) regarding food security in our communities. The good news is that the state’s food supply chain remains strong, in that there are no concerns about food shortages. However, there are concerns about ensuring that food gets to those who are most vulnerable, especially given the disruptions we have all experienced in our daily work, school and personal lives.

The Governor’s Office is in the process of gathering information from local governments who are working to address food needs in their communities. To better assist with this effort, the state is asking local government leaders to fill out this survey: https://survey.mn.gov/s.asp?k=158570677754.

For more information on the purpose of the survey and how the information will be used, please see this one-page explainer from the Governor’s Office.

We encourage you to review the one-pager and fill out the survey to the best of your ability. As the memo says, even partially completed surveys will assist with their efforts.
