The deadline to register for the CGMC Summer Conference has been extended to Aug. 15!
This year’s conference will be held Aug. 20-22 at the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester. We have a great event planned, with lots of informational sessions as well as chances to socialize with other city leaders and explore unique facilities in Rochester.
Programming will include a panel discussion on the future of broadband in rural communities; a panel on how the city of Rochester and the Mayo Clinic have included community engagement in the Destination Medical Center planning and development; a workshop on tools cities can use to address the challenges and opportunities that arise as rural communities become more racially and ethnically diverse; options to tour facilities like the Mayo Clinic, U of M-Rochester, the Rochester Art Center and the Minnesota BioBusiness Center; an awards dinner honoring legislators, city officials and others who worked especially hard to advance Greater Minnesota priorities during the 2014 legislative session; comprehensive discussions on the upcoming election and emerging issues; and much more!
We will also be adding some additional programming to fill the time that had been slotted for the gubernatorial forum (which we are working with the candidates’ campaigns to reschedule for September or October). We are tentatively planning to add sessions on transportation and energy that we expect attendees will find useful and informative.
We hope to see you there!
