There is still time to register for the CGMC Fall Conference! Our annual fall event will be held in person Thursday, Nov. 18 – Friday, Nov. 19 at the Willmar Conference Center. Register at bit.ly/CGMCfall21.

You can view the Fall Conference agenda here. Highlights include:

  • A presentation from State Demographer Susan Brower on how demographic changes from the 2020 Census will impact your city, region and the state
  • A panel discussion on the ongoing child care crisis and how your city can take advantage of state programs and grants aimed at combating this problem
  • A presentation from Attorney General Keith Ellison on Minnesota’s involvement in lawsuits against opioid manufacturers and distributors — and how your city might be able to benefit from recent settlements
  • A keynote speech from Bruce Nustad, president of the Minnesota Retailers Association
  • A chance to discuss and learn from other city leaders about how cities are choosing to spend their American Rescue Plan dollars
  • A panel discussion featuring first-term legislators
  • …and much more!

Note about hotels: Fall Conference attendees are responsible for booking their own hotel rooms. We have been informed that both the Best Western and Holiday Inn attached to the conference center are close to being fully booked. As result, we booked a block at a third hotel in Willmar, the Country Inn & Suites, which is about 3 miles away. Here is the contact info for all three hotels:

If you have any questions about the conference, please contact Julie Liew at jlliew@flaherty-hood.com or 651-259-1917.
